A Thousand Cypresses Backdrop

A Thousand Cypresses

A man is packing his lunch. He has decided to visit the Brion Tomb, a monumental funerary complex designed and built by the Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa. After placing the food inside a plastic bag, we find him strolling through the cemetery, observing every detail with meticulous care, while in his silent mind linger the precious words spoken by the architect at a conference in Madrid held in the summer of 1978: “For the Brion Tomb, I could have proposed planting a thousand cypresses.”
